Drinking Water Services are able to provide laboratory testing of purified water that is intended for pharmacological purposes or other uses that require the highest quality water.

We understand that purfied water for use in the medical or pharmaceutical industry must be of the highest standard and any testing regime must take into account the origin, planned use, storage conditions.

We are able to provide the most appropriate testing and can advise on the water quality and purity required for your intended application along with certification following our testing.

Testing can be arranged as a regular timetabled regime or for spot checks. We are able to test deivered water or water that is purified on site.

Water for use in Laboratory and Medical Services:

Primary Grade Water:Lowest level of purity and medium conductivity of 1 - 50 µS/cm . Normally manufactured using basic anion exchange or reverse osmosis. used for washing, and production of reagent solutions where the higher quality water isn't required.

Deionized water: Low conductivity less than 1.0 µS/cm. Usually manufactered using mixed bed ion exchange. Normally used for analytical standards and reagents, dilution, preparation of pharmaceutical solutions.

General laboratory grade water: High ionic purity, low levels of organic and micro-organisms (bacterial count of less than 1CFU/ml) , low conductivity eg. less than 1.0µS/cm TOC (Total Organic Carbon) of less than 50ppb. For use in a wide range of laboratory applications. Make up of reagents, nutrient media. Normally produced using double distilation or other water purification systems.

Ultra Pure water (Type I) : By definition contains only H20, and H+ and OH- ions in equilibrium. conductivity of approx 0.054 µS/cm. Maunufactured in a multi stage operation using filtration or ion exchange then further filtered using a high performance mixed bed. For use in the pharmaceuticals industry and the microprocessor industry. The minimum standards are regularly raised
